Why Ethereal Crown?
I created Ethereal Crown, with the help of my spirit guides, as a response to the idea that faster is better in a yoga class. When the integrity of the breath is lost and mind/body unification is disconnected we are exercising in a class, not participating in yoga.
Breath and meditation are so valuable for grounding, centering, and focus. Yet in fast paced classes I began to notice the lack of time given to breath and meditation. My breath rarely matched my instructors, as I have a severely deviated septum. I felt behind the rest of the class if I was inhaling when everyone else was exhaling. I also found myself flowing at a much slower pace than what was being cued. I was not centered or focused in these classes, but rather anxious and frustrated with myself. I thought I was doing something wrong.
It was in my first yoga teacher training I realized the true beauty of taking your autonomy as the student over what the instructor is cuing. Trusting your intuition over what someone is telling you to do with your breath and body is yoga. At Ethereal Crown we work at your pace to ensure you feel aligned with your intuition throughout practice.

Hi I’m Kat!
I have always felt moved by intuitive means of expression and creation like dance, swimming, painting, poetry, and fashion. Yoga for me, is a creative art of expression unique to my body every time I arrive on my mat to flow, or my seat to meditate, or I arrive inward to move my breath. Yoga gives me space and permission to create personalized experiences for my mind and body in the present moment. When I'm not practicing or teaching yoga, I can be found loving the other arts, watching stand-up comedians, or losing myself to the quiet of nature.
